Nary a vegetable in sight! I was hoping this book would straighten out my jaded view of Midwestern style cooking, but it's all mac n' chez (why processed cheese product recipes in this land of cows?) and meat for this crowd. No wonder why the author gained 10 lbs on his trip! The commentary about the trip is fun though...
