This book seems to bring to a close this series and it did a great job. I wasn't sure when the book first started out, Mike wasn't in a good place and going even worse things. But that seemed to change when Mike first laid eyes on Chloe, who brought about some big changes to all of the men. When Chloe laid out her secret it was hard not to find her eyes tearing up and you could feel the astonishment from Mike and Harry, but it was in a good way.
Mike and Chloe seemed to have instant chemistry, right from first look. It seemed to be going well, until the bad choice Mike made at the start of the book came back to bite him. I just knew that would happen and it would ruin things between them and it did. Things happened about the way that I thought they would and so did Harry's warning. I understood why Harry gave the warning and even sort of agreed with him. I did love how Mike dealt with the warning, yes he followed it, but it still kept him in the game.
The trouble that came at the end was a good way for Mike to shake out the holding pattern he was in. It forced him to acknowledge his feelings for Chloe, forced Harry to realize that Mike had changed in the months since the initial problems with him, and the time between the issues allowed Mike and Chloe to really see each other.
I hated the kind of trouble that came, these types of stories make me want to save everyone as I know things like that happen all the time. I was happy to see that some of the little people got saved, while the big bad guys were taken down.
The epilogue at the end was great, enough set in the future so that we could see what everyone was up to and that they all were so happy.
