The Black Banners: The Inside Story of 9/11 and the War Against al-Qaeda

I heard about this book when I saw the author interviewed on TV. His comments about interrogating al-Qaeda members were interesting. The book tells about the author joining the FBI and becoming an expert on al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden. He shows how interrogation techniques used by the FBI produced more and better results than the enhanced interrogation techniques (EIT) used by the CIA. The book takes the reader inside interrogations and the minds of al-Qaeda members. It explains a lot about al-Qaeda and how Bin Laden organized it, the problem between the CIA and FBI and interference from the White House. It's a very interesting read. It's hard to keep all the arabic names and aliases straight as the plots are explained, but luckily a list of principal characters is provided at the back of the book. So, the book is not a fast read, but it does move along and keeps you turning the pages.
