Thirty-Three Teeth (Dr. Siri Paiboun, #2)
by Colin Cotterill
by Colin Cotterill
I read this all in one sitting. Much like the first Dr. Siri book, the pace and tone is very enjoyable. Readers get a deeper understanding of Lao culture and geography, which was sort of glossed-over in the first book. The importance of local culture and religion plays a more prominent role in this story, and it's quite enjoyable.
Again, I found the mix of supernatural and natural to be fun without edging into preciousness. I also liked the further development of characters other than Siri from the first book. And, although I missed Auntie Lah, the other subplots were interesting enough to compensate.
Very highly recommended.
