Tantalize

Vampirism as superior botox is the best line ever! Made my night. This is another one I've heard a bit about and am less tempted to try now. Although, if there's a likable dog...
oh, do not read it because of the dog, really. Horror genre I tell you. It´s not there much of the dog anyway.
Vampirism as botox cames straight from the book though, so i guess it has some hidden gems. I appreciate that quirkiness, that it is trying to do something a little bit different, more edgy than say Twilight. It´s just that it is not quite enough to make it good. The characters not being likeable is a huge stumbling block.
If you are tempted about reading it, do let me send you my copy, it´s not book pushing because not really recommended, but just hey don´t spend money on this ;)
Oh, if the dog isn't enough to make it work for you, I don't think I'll bother, thanks! And I take your point about its having good characteristics too. I trust your character judgment enough that I'd bet that I wouldn't find the characters likable either.
There'll be lots of other chances for book pushing, I'm sure. ;)

Variable levels of gore and sex. There are variations, some brought witches to the mix, some go very PG-13. My hunch is to blame Laurel K Hamilton or Joss Wheddon (sort of. well, with lots of excuses for *him*). I am getting a bit tired but not yet avoiding totally the genre. This is more of the same, teenage orphaned restaurant owner opening a vampire themed restaurant and creepy creatures start appearing. The hardcover looks nicely solid ( and very very pretty), but I wonder what the word count really since the text is set out with large font and spacing. I am no great judge of writing but I did not like it, the choice of words often felt stilted and pretentious, I found none of the characters likable ( maybe t...more
