I am a Margaret Atwood fan, and I am trying to do a "best of sci-fi summer" and I wanted to read this book for the simple fact that she wrote it, but didn't think it fit the bill. Fortunately it did (I would have read it anyway), and I liked it more than I expected to. In true Atwood fashion, there is no resolution, no happy -- or unhappy -- ending [Edit: there's a 2nd book, so there is a resolution. Ish.], but there is a lot of thought-provoking material and all-around great writing that just sucks you in. The story is of a man who seems to be the last authentic homo sapiens on Earth, and it switches back and forth between the present and the past events that have gotten him to where he is now. Really interesting ethically and scientifically.

Allison (The Allure of Books) so I came to look at this on GR after seeing your IMM vlog and discovered it is already on my "own it" shelf. Handy. Now all I have to do is...you know. Find it.

Misty Bahahahaha! That happens to me all the time! Or I can't remember if I own something. Occasionally I buy the same thing twice. Once, I bought the same book just weeks apart. That was pretty bad...

Allison (The Allure of Books) well, its worse for me because I have so many books in storage in my parents' garage. Where I'm almost sure this is. Sigh. I'll add it to the list (yes, there is A LIST) of stuff to grab next time I'm down there.

I love that I'm stalking you to the point that we have to have this conversation all over the internet. haha.

Misty I know, it is kinda fantastic. ;P

Misty We're very stalkable people, you and I...

Inoli Am I a stalker or a lurker?

Misty A sturker?
A larker? <---- I like that one, go with that.

Inoli Hmmm. Yeah. I think I do too. That's me, then.
