1. Picture Books-Concept

2. What comes first? The Chicken or the egg? Well , not only does this book answer the question, but it add even more like a tadpole and frog, a seed and a flower, a caterpillar and butterfly, and many more.

3a. Illustrations and simple text

3b. The cover of the book was the first thing that stood out to me as soon as I saw the book. With the use of gouache, the pictures became more and more vibrant and they would capture the attention of any child and it has the potential to make children read it. The simple text is also great for beginning readers.

3c. The texture and paint strokes of the illustrations makes the pictures stand even better. The butterfly on page 17 looks real due to the paint and texture of the paper used for the illustrations. What was neat about this book is that the jacket over the book say "First the egg" on the front, and "Then the chicken" on the back while the actual book says the opposite! The argument will never cease with this book!

4.The curriculum connection would be in the subject of science. The students will read the story and the teacher will provide an activity where the students must match the pictures of baby animals with the full grown animals such as kitten and cat and puppy and dog.
