Enjoyed the book, narrative voice not to my liking but good story. I didn't want to be intimidated into giving this five stars because saramago is a nobel prize winning author. I'm definately not offended by his take on the gospels, and i was entertained by his take on it, but i'm not overwhelmed by saramago's storytelling. After i think about this for some time, i may change my mind. I would give it 3.5 stars if possible, but he gets the benefit of my inability to do so....
