Paul Auster has a problem. He has to write a Christmas story for his newspaper (and its this article that will make or break their faith in his writing). He wants to write an original story but doesn't want to dip into the worn out sentiment or mythology of Christmas. The story he gets from his friend Auggie Wren, is just that.
