This is one of the best books that I have read in years. It provided the most powerful and most emotionally cathartic reading experience that I've had in years; I didn't start crying until the end but once I started, I didn't stop for a few hours.
The story is one of memory and sadness but at the end, there is the tinest glimmer of hope that provides completion. Allegorically, the knife cut deam but instead of killing, a seed was planted. Even now, I get goose bumps thinking about it. The characterizations are wonderfully nuanced as well.
