Theodore Boone: The Abduction (Theodore Boone, #2)

As fear ripples through his small hometown and the police hit dead ends, it's up to Theo to use his investigative prowess. The precocious thirteen year old, wiser than his years, tries to solve the mysterious disappearance of his school friend, April, who disappeared from her room in the middle of the night.
Theo doesn’t like going to school and uses every excuse under the sun not to go but once he’s there he tends to enjoy himself – the fight he has with his parents is a daily occurrence and one shared by thousands of school kids the world over!
I like the reserved nature of Theo, when facing adult stupidity mingled with authority. He wants to say, "You are really stupid" when adults tell him the law, and are incorrect. However, he holds himself back and answers respectfully, in order to mediate conflicts. That is a very mature attitude and I like that young readers are exposed to a hero character that is able to do act mature. In many cases more mature than the adult who is ranting and raving at him.
