Angelo's Captive Virgin by India Grey

I almost didn’t finish this book, because it was pressing so many of my personal buttons: heroine is all juicy over hero, who is almost indifferent to her and uses her lustiness to humiliate her. Yeech. I read on, hoping there might eventually be some kind of satisfying equalization, but then it came in such a sudden, ridiculous form I just wanted to punch the book. (view spoiler)[(Just when an accident makes him realize his love for Anna (eyeroll,) Angelo discovers from the piece of jewelry he’s had since he was a baby that Anna is his sister. (double eyeroll.) (hide spoiler)] On top of that, this is almost exactly the same plot as another book (view spoiler)[With All My Heart (hide spoiler)] by Jo Goodman. (view spoiler)[(Triple eyeroll) (hide spoiler)] It was kind of dumb when Goodman did it and in this short book, with no real effort made towards build-up of the revelation, was even dumber. Add in a snide, patronizing attitude towards environmentalists and the book was just a disaster for me. YMMV.

Vanessa Jaye Looking at your hysterical bookshelf labels made me wonder how Goodreads recommendations are working for you. lol. (btw, did you remove the spoilers, or did Goodreads?)

willaful You mean, put in the spoiler warnings? I did that -- it's quite easy, just put spoiler in html brackets before the section you want to hide and then /spoiler in html brackets after it.

I was very amused by the recommendations at first! But they can be customized, so I no longer get recommendations based on my "pet-peeve-hate" shelf. :-)

AgentScully Huh? The hero finds out heroine is (view spoiler)[his sister (hide spoiler)]?

willaful Scully, spoilerize please! (view spoiler)[She's not really, of course. (hide spoiler)]

Glad to see you, was just wondering what you were up to.

Lisa Kay Discovered this on my Adobe Reader... I've never read it; wonder why I bought it now, LOL! Thanks for the review. ☺ I may steal that bookshelf - name of "ick-factor," Willa.

Lisa Kay Thanks, Willa! ☺

Vanessa I attempted to read it because you mentioned it on the 2011 books thread. I didn't even look for your review though :( I should have. However, I have to agree. Bit of a stretch w/ jewelry and all. Then of course never mind that he had already sealed the deal, now he has to lie to her to protect her. Getting outside parties involved w/ his dumb letters to boot! Geeze . . . Okay honestly I didn't read cover to cover because the book rather bored me :(
