I can see why this book is a classic. The characters draw you in – fascinate you and disgust you. Ender is a 6 year-old boy who is taken to an elite military school to be trained for his future role in the International Fleet. Everyone expects him to literally save the world from an alien threat which has attacked Earth on two separate occasions. He is manipulated and pushed by all that surround him, as he trains to become a killing machine, and strives to do so without losing his humanity.
