jenna I chose to read this book because it is one of my son's favorite picture books. Even though he is two he was still able to point out things in the book such as the map and the clock, and he always wants to hear what the reindeer are doing. The book tells children how the reindeer get ready to take flight on Christmas Eve with Santa to deliver presents all around the world. This book would be appropriate for the nursery or primary child. The illustrator uses plastic eyes for the reindeer so that the eyes show through on each page to add to the fun of the book. The illustrator uses basic colors, red, green, yellow, and brown throughout every page of the book. Curved lines are used to accentuate the shape of the reindeer. There are basic pictures Lines and basic shapes are used throughout the book to show the separation between the fences, grass, and sky, or floor and wall. The pictures are visually stimulating because the characters in the book are large and the main focus. This book is an easy during the Christmas holiday and will help children expand their imagination of Santa Clause.
