The ESPN book was pretty good. It was a bit overly laudatory of ESPN -- and a lot of the behind-the-scenes stories were common knowledge to anyone who's read Deadspin -- but nonetheless a good, comprehensive telling of the ESPN story. Still not sold on the 'oral history' form of storytelling though. While it's great to get different perspectives 'straight from the horse's mouth,' that can be done in a normal narrative, it doesn't need to be a hard and fast rule -- 832 pages was too many for this book.
