Grrr, this book ticked me off so much! The man who won't marry his mistress is one of my favorite tropes, because it's such a juicy source of pain, and this one started off particularly well, with a conventional HP scenario that included a very unconventional twist. But then Reid had to go and (quite ridiculously) undo the whole thing, putting us right back into same-old/same-old land. (view spoiler) Another twist that provided a satisfying, balanced ending redeemed it somewhat and I enjoyed the angsty goodness overall, so it wasn’t a complete disaster, just a disappointment.
