Melinda is a girl that went through rape. she is shunned by all of her friends and they don't even know what happened to her. All they know is that she called the cops at the party at the beginning of the summer. She becomes the social outcast and she hides in her secret closet at school. As she struggles with her secret of rape she discovers herself through her art work.

This book was a very powerful book it really helped me to see the troubles that a girl might go through in her situation. This book shows the powerful reality of the effect one persons actions might have on a persons life. It nearly destroyed her. Though this book had a slightly depressing feel about it, the lesson learned was worth it.
