I just finished the book late last night. I enjoyed it, but I didn't entirely remember the Cannie Shapiro original story. So, luckily Jennifer Weiner explains some of the past in this book. It has been years since I read the first one.
I did find the story got a bit lengthy at times and the ending was a shocker. It was a real surprise in the last few chapters, which I hadn't expected. I won't tell you the ending, but it's not at all what you'd expect it to be.
The writing style is her usual style, although I did get confused with the mother/daughter characters narrating every other chapter. I had to re-read and catch myself when I started a new chapter to figure out who was talking (if I went back to the book after putting it down).
Overall, it was enjoyable. I've liked other books of Weiner's better, but this wasn't anything I found boring to read.
