This was a very touching and sweet story about dealing with losing someone you love, and then finding love again.

It's been about a year and a half since Anna's boyfriend, Adam, died. Anna seems to have moved out of her depression but not out of her survivor guilt. Every time she goes to have fun she thinks maybe she shouldn't, what would other people think? This summer is different though, because her mother insists she gets a job to pay her expenses. Anna goes to work at The Shack, a local greasy spoon and is shocked to find out that Adam's older brother, Camp is working there too. Getting a job actually helps Anna to start to move on with her life, she becomes involved with the day-to-day and can't spend large amounts of time missing or thinking about Adam. She gradually begins a friendship with Camp but is very hesitant because her feelings, against her will, start to change into something more than just friendship.

Being a novella (approximately 27,000 words) didn't take away from this story at all. Katie did a great job making you feel and care about Anna and Camp. Even the secondary characters with the little time they had were well done (loved Lisa!). This was a thoroughly enjoyable book that drew you in right away. A definite recommend!

I'll be on the lookout for the next Katie Aleo story!
