Oh. My. God. This book (nay, this entire series) is absolutely the BEST YA SERIES I have ever read. The plotting is meticulate and complex, the characters are 3-dimensional and fascinating, the writing and the pacing are the best I've ever seen. Chima's gift in writing, I think, is how she makes us care about the characters right away. I was only a few chapters in, at which point I'm usually still getting to know the characters and deciding whether I care about them or not. But with Chima's writing, I immediately found that I loved many of the characters, and really wanted to know what happened.

It also helps that here Chima has created a world as rich and multi-faceted as any in high fantasy. From the squalor of Ragmarket to the pomp of the palace, from the prejudices running rampant among the peoples to the rich history they have, from the impressive magic the wizards use to the subtle magic of the Gray Wolf Line, this world has been realized to the fullest. Absolute MUST READ!!!

Madi14 Beautifully written, right?! Adore Raisa, Han is the perfect mix of heart and cunning wit. The politics in this series are so well though, I found myself anticipating the next move (which never happens anymore!)Can't wait for the fourth to come out!
