Great book, 4.5 stars. This book is way more than a biography of Rin Tin Tin. It is also a biography of Lee Duncan, Rinty's owner and handler. The story includes the use of dogs in WW1 and WW2, the beginnings of dog obedience lessons, dogs as pets, dogs in the silent movies, 1950's television, all sorts of interesting sidelights. It is a real treat to those of us that grew up with The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin on television. The story only starts to lag once Lee Duncan passes away.
