This was a difficult read for me. It encompassed so many themes: comic books, publishing, wars, love and death and everything imaginable and unimaginable in between. Chabon wrote Wonder Boys, a book I loved and a film (and soundtrack) I loved even more, but with this one he lost me. Maybe it was because I'm not that interested in comic books, or maybe his incredible and unusual vocabulary and prose style (in this book) distracted my attention, but well, no, this is not on my top ten or even top 100 lists. However, it was a best seller and others here may absolutely love it. Chabon is a talented, gifted writer.
