Donaldson returns to The Land with high expectations. I must admit that I was really looking forward to this book, but it hasn't been the page turner that previous Thomas Covenant books are. I believe the reason for that is that it really hasn't been about TC, but Linden Avery. I'm about 2/3 of the way done but I've been reading this book for a long time (a few months). I still look forward to the next one, but this one seems like it's probably more of a set-up book for its sequel (where as previous books seemed to stand on their own a bit better).
