There were some good things about Blood Rights. I liked Mal and the vague Beauty and the Beast references. I also liked the dramatic reveal and ending. I was not expecting that, although I should have guessed.

There were also some meh things about it. The world building was a bit much. I still don't fully understand the covenant and what exactly it was doing besides hiding the paranormal world from our world. And setting it in the future was a cool idea, but I wish a little more focus had been put on the human world. I'm holding out hope it will be more of a focus in the next book. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about Chrysabelle. She goes from bad-ass to seductress to lost lamb frequently and at the drop of a hat. I'm never really sure how she's going to deal with something, which makes her come off as flaky and unstable. I'm holding out hope she'll even out in the next book.

So, really, it has an interesting premise and could very well become a great series, like the Fever series did, but it pretty much hinges on the next book. *crosses fingers*
