  rating: 3 of 5 stars<br/>Management consultant Kate Svenson has a high-powered job in her father's company, enough money to live worry free, and a plan for the way her life should work out. The only thing she doesn't have is a relationship--the crux of the life plan. Kate wants to be married, and not just to any man, but to one who meets certain requirements. He has to be successful, intelligent, distinguished, well-mannered, and ambitious. It sounds easy enough, particularly when her best friend sends her to a golf resort in Kentucky frequented by the sort of men she's looking for.

<br/>Jake Templeton has left life in the city to help his brother run a high profile golf resort in the country. A former tax attorney, these days Jake spends his days napping on a boat in the river, managing the outdoor activities at the resort, and drinking beer and playing pool at the local bar. When Kate shows up at the resort, she promptly starts dating the eligible bachelors--and keeps getting herself into awkward situations where Jake winds up playing the hero. When her manhunting becomes more trouble than it's worth, Jake realizes that maybe she is worth it and maybe he's the man who deserves her.

<br/>Manhunting is typical early Crusie. It has a solid love story with plenty of funny moments. The poor men who Kate tramples on the path to finding love with Jake offer some of the funniest moments in the book. My only problem was how easily Kate seemed to turn from a power-hungry workaholic to being willing to shake off life in the fast lane for a quiet life in the country. It was a bit too easy, and made it difficult to take her seriously at points. Overall, I liked this story, but it was nothing spectacular. It's just another funny chick lit story with a cute plot and a well-rounded cast of characters.
