Much like she did with The Reluctant Dom, the author's focus of this book is not on the erotica (though it does happen frequently after about halfway through) but on the emotional development and attachments of the three characters. Theirs is a menage that is grounded in mutual love and affection, not simply the sex.

And this is exactly where Ms. Dalton shines as an author - she focuses on the emotional side of things, letting the characters grow realistically, and while the sexual situations are certainly hot and erotic, they do not distract from the strong emotions that permeate this book.

There were times when I had tears in my eyes, and one scene in particular was just so brilliantly done that it made my heart melt. I got invested in these characters and their happy ending made me smile.

I can't wait to read the 2nd installment of this series.
