Connected with this story as many of the characters were in synch with my current life - from Mary Ann, who just relocated to San Francisco from small town Ohio (I just moved to the west coast from small town West Virginia) to the gay characters, both openly and closeted. I love stories that intertwine character's lives. It's my belief that everything and everyone in the world is connected and Maupin puts a fun twist on the concept of how people interact.
