A lovely, melancholy little noir comic about a detective who always finds unhappiness in his investigations. Perhaps it’s because his partner, Brulightly, is a bag of tea–a talking one, but a tea bag nonetheless. Berry’s art and storytelling are both delightful, capturing the mood of 1940′s noir stories very well. The mystery (involving the suicide-or-is-it of a woman’s fiance) is reasonably twisty, and the dialogue is terse and well-written. I don’t have much else to say about this one, other than that it’s a good read.
