it was amazing
Read from September 21 to October 09, 2011, read count: 1

This is a great book not only as a historical reference but also as a piece of art. What Ms. Nemirovsky was able to complete is a clever approach to the French Exode and its immediate aftermath through relatable characters who, like each section hints at (there are only two; five were intended), are all intertwined whether they know it or not. It reminds the reader that though made up of different people, towns, provinces, zones--France is one.

Ashley Hennefer Ooh I've been wanting to read this! I checked it out from the library a long time ago but never got around to it. I may have to give it another shot!
