Another excellent read by one of my favorite authors. While the characters aren't as fun as those in the Vorkosigan saga, the world that Lois McMaster Bujold has created is interesting and lively.
The religion in the book is fascinating. The gods in it take an overt role in the lives of people -- but only where people let them. The subtext about letting the gods work through you rather than you trying to do the gods' work was very well done.
