Holy freaking something or other! This book is incredible.

I was absolutely entranced - staying up late, getting up early - all to listen to more of this book (the Audible version).

I was absolutely sucked into Kvothe's story and even though he's narrating his own story and I know things will work out for him in the end, I am still compelled to keep listening.

Shahd Mt. I knowwwwwww!!!! This book is beyond amazing.

Bill Blume Lisa, I have to agree. This book was recommended to me by a co-worker. I absolutely hate flashbacks, which this book mostly is... and yet it works!

I think part of the intensity is that you actually get the feeling things *haven't* worked out well for Kvothe. You keep waiting to see where the bad turn in the road will be, and there are so many places along the way where you think it might be about to happen.

The second book is just as good, and in some ways better.
