bookshelves: fantasy

This book is about a rat, Rodney, who is shy, unable to pronounce his R's and is teased by his peers for it at school. When a new rodent joins the class, she is bigger, meaner, and smarter than everyone else. The turning point comes when Rodney is chosen to be the leader in "Simon Says." I would use this book in my future classroom for a character lesson and also to discuss alliterations.
