it was amazing

I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips, but I didn't read her books until I had the pleasure of attending a workshop in Minneapolis for the Midwest Fiction Writers headlined by the lady herself. Her books are a delight with complicated characters who do foolish things for all the right reasons, characters who risk their hearts for that one chance at love, often the second chance after blowing it big time the first time.

This book starts in the middle and flashes back to how her heroine got into this situation, and then shows how she climbs out of it. It's impossible to put down and impossible not to cheer for these characters. And the settings are so vivid, the reader feels right in the middle of them.
