Bear Meets Girl by Shelly Laurenston

A few months, no.. now years, back a few friends of mine and I had an ICQ or skype conference, and we were talking about how there were few to no books with were-bulls, -bears, or -mosquitos to be found. We then decided to write an erotic novel about homosexual werebears. We planned to include all of our pet-peeves, ungay them (because that's possible, ya know.) and so on.

In any case, then suddenly I found dozens of bear-shifter novels. What the heck. Those authors CLEARLY hacked into our conversation..

Anyways.. Just finished this novel this morning and was surprised. I didn't like the author novels I have read by this author, and didn't really expect to like this.

Now, I thought the characters, especially the heroine, were incredibly annoying and I wouldn't want to spend more time with them than necessary, but the novel was overall very entertaining. While I didn't care about the romance-part, I thought BEAR MEETS GIRL did make for a few good laughs. It was definitely better than the other Pride novel I read, and lots better than Dragon, Actually and the other dragon novella I read written by G.A. Aiken (aka Shelly Laurenston.)

I think if I had to describe it to my best friend it would go something like this:

If you are looking for a book where the plot is predictable, here it is. If you're looking for a book where the heroine is unrelatable in her self-confidence, therefore not knowing what 'angst' actually means, check this out. It WILL probably make you laugh, if you aren't too frustrated over the fact that this bitch got a decent job, best friend, daughter and guy.
