My favorite part of this book was something said by Anne's new friend Miss Cornelia Bryant. Miss Cornelia is a straight forward talkative woman who makes a lot of remarks about men and how they are just good for nothing. Miss Cornelia is talking about her Methodist preacher and she says, "The long and the short of it is, I consider him a reverend jackass. But, of course, this is just between you and me. When there are Methodists in hearing, I praise him to the skies." When I read that part I just couldn't stop laughing.
