I loved this book. Beatrice was called back to London from New York because her sister, Tess, was missing. Her body was found, and the police concluded that it was suicide because Tess recently had lost a baby and was depressed. Beatrice was convinced her sister could not have committed suicide and started an investigation on her own. The story was told as an open letter from Beatrice to Tess, and this allowed all of Beatrice's grief, guilt, and determination to show through. Terrific!
