Imaginative and well written, with some interesting tropes and sub-tropes that, I hope, will be explored more fully in future novels in the series. The central character is so likeable that I did not even mind the fact that he was superb at everything he turned his hand to. The biotech concepts were interesting, if a little wish-fulfillment. The secondary characters were a little light, but enjoyable. I am hoping there will be more exploration of the colonialism issues. I think that would be an interesting place to go. I will definitely be reading more from this writer.
