I have no shame in saying that I loved this book. Predictably, this fact has much to do my love for the TV show (Castle!) that spawned it. The writing is entertaining and fast-paced, and the dialogue sounds so much like the TV show, it's almost scary. I'm so happy that there wasn't as much awkwardly-not-friends tension between Rook and Heat as there strangely was in the second book. Their relationship is building strength and becoming deeper, and it's fun to see that happen with two characters you love. I especially love all the little in-jokes about Castle and Firefly. I definitely didn't figure this mystery out until the very end, when it suddenly all made sense. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean anything for the writing of the book - it could just mean that I am a clueless reader. Neither way, it made for an exciting, explosive ending. And cliffhanger! I'm sure everything will turn out great for Rook, but I'll still anxiously await the fourth book in the series. This next year is going to be long! :)
