it was amazing
bookshelves: middle-school
Read in April, 2012

Reread the book again in anticipation of the Insurgent release (it was shipped today, yay!).

I enjoyed this book just as much if not more than the first time I read it!

If you can suspend your belief and just accept the societal breakdown into factions based on dominent virtues, it is quite the ride through a broken world and coming of age for the main character.

There are moments of beautiful writing as well as interesting character development as Beatrice morphs from Abnegation child to a *?* adult. The initiation stage and fledging romance are both so riveting that I couldn't put the book down. Again! I know the whole story, but had to experience it fully again.

Now I am a scifi/mystery/thriller type -- not into chick lit. But the brewing romance and the perfectly imperfect male lead, Four -- LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Can't wait for the next book -- Tuesday can't come fast enough! Happily, it's state testing week, so I won't have grading to do at night. You can guess what I'll be doing in the evening!
