This was a good book about the the raw passion of life. I enjoyed it. My one complaint is how the female characters are portrayed.(With the exception of the main characters aunt.) Pawned off, used for sex, used for money, etc. When the women get pissed off at being treated like shit they of course became shrieking hags. I try to keep in mind the time period it was written in. But it did bug me. It was definitely written in the "good 'ol boys" sort of perspective.
