Opened this book with so may lofty expectations. Only one was fulfilled... I have read another monstrously long novel.
You have read other reviews so I will spare you all the droll details (something which Martin could learn from).
I was going to give a rating of 4 stars, until I read that he promised the follow-up to be out a year later. The 6 years of silence must have been torture for those that read AFFC in 2005.
I am lucky enough to be able to pick up Dance With Dragons right now... I just pray Martin's gotten the need to list off hundreds characters in a row out of his system.
Overall a good book, but just didn't keep pace with the last 3.
