Last night, extraordinarily tired and with an upset stomach, I stayed up until 2 am reading this heartbreakingly sad and beautifully written novel.

Clarissa learns just after her father died that he was not her biological father at all. Her mother abandoned the family when Clarissa was 14 and now, at age 29, she feels completely alone and betrayed by everyone who knew that her father was not her father and never told her. She sets off on a heartbreaking journey to Lapland to meet her biological father and discovers so much more.

Sandra I stayed up until 4 am, but not because I was reading, but because I was getting ready for my ESL 79 final presentation(today).

Your review reminds me that I didn't meet my "biological father" until I was 17.
