Goose and I have spoken several times lately about this book (it's one his favorites), and I feel I need to bump it up to a five star.

This book is one of the finest I’ve ever read. It won the Pulitzer and has been widely loved by readers and celebrated by critics. It’s very cathartic. It’s like a trip to your grandparents house, full of nostalgia, simplicity, and love. But it’s also like a disappointed, knowing glance from a best friend that’s humbling, convicting, but somehow comfortable. Plus she wrote this after a 23 (I think this is right) year gap from her prior novel. While she wasn’t working on it that whole time, still there are a lot of life experiences that went into it.
