The Sisterhood of the Traveling pants by Ann Brashares is a amazing story of 4 best friends who share memories and connect because of pants. As the 4 best friends Carmen, Tibby, Lena, and Bridget set off on their summer destination they stay together by the pants. They have never been apart first time apart so the pants help them have same strong bond of friendship. Carmen pants surpisely fit Tibby, Lena, and Bridget even through they have different bodies. So they thought these pants are magic pants. To stay together they decided to share the pants each person is going to wear throughout the summer. Each of them will have turns wearing the pants as they pass it on.





Each of them will go on their separate ways it is how their journey begins. Carmen will go to south Carolina to spend the summer with her dad. Lena will go with her sister to Greece to visit her grand parents. Bridget will spend her summer at a soccer camp in Baja California, Mexico. Tibby will stay home in Maryland and will work at wallmans superstore. As they each take turns wearing the pants they will have have rules that they all decided on. To keep there relationship strong they have rules so they don't do anything to pants that will make there relationship weaker. The rules that they make are 10 things not to do while wearing the pants.



To me the rules are kind of weird but the first rule is to never wash the pants that just gross to me.The second rule is you must never double-cuff the pants and there will never be a time when there are tacky. ok to me i dont even know what double cuff means.The third rule You must never say the word "phat" while wearing the pants or think yourself as fat while wearing them. That sounds like a reasonable rule. The fourth rule is you must never let a boy take off your pants but you can take them off. The fifth rule is never pick your nose while wearing the pants but you can itch it. The sixth rule is on the left leg of the pants write the most exicting place you went with the pants. on the right leg of the pants write the most important thing that happen while wearing the pants. The seventh rule is you must wite to tour sisters throughout the summer no matter how much fun you are having. the eighth rule is you must pass along your pants acroding to the rules or else. The ninth rule is you must not tuck your shirt or wear a belt. The last rule is that remember pants=love, love your pals and loveurself.



In my opinion i think this book is great it tell all about the passion between the love of best friends at their first separation.The title of the book has more meaning then you would think. When people look at the title and see its about pant they will think its a stupid book. when you read the story it will inspire you how deep the story is about these four best friends. It tells you stories and challenges each of these girls faced in their summer adventure. the pants kepted them going they knew it was the olny way to keep their freindship safe. i would recomend reading this epesically for girls that are teens and probelly will face the same problems they faced. maybe you would want to start something as creative as these girl did with their best friends. So listen take my word for and read it, it has so many emotions, drama, and shows the love of these friends.
