So, just so you know, how long it took me to finish this book does not mean I did not like it or that something went terribly wrong and I just could not bring myself to pick it back up again. Nope. I was just a lazybones and life happened and well, you know.

ANYWAY, this book! It is really great. I love Evie and I love Evie's job and I love knickknacks and ephemera and handwritten letters and family histories and big old estates and everyone is likeable and you are really rooting for all of them and will Robert wear a kilt or not, that is the question, and okay, look, I have no rhythm, it is true, but reading about all the Scottish reeling made even ME want to learn how to reel. It sounds fun! It even reads fun and reading about dancing can sometimes be my cue to skip forward 5 pages. But not here.

This one made me happy. Well done, Hester Browne.
