With the shadow of Stephen, it's almost parody that Joe Hill writes in the horror genre, but I think he pulls it off well. The story moves quickly, which I am grateful for (the wind-up to the "First strange evening" is always a drag to me). I never found the book scary, but definitely the feeling of dread and fear was in there.

Finished it in three sit-downs, and I didn't think the story called for any more material. Pumped to read "Horns"
