This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Ms. Monroe has made one wild character in Mama Ruby. A women who believes she is both blessed by God and at times controlled by the devil. She finds almost none of her actions wrong; be that stealing her best-friend's newborn, beating people up or killing if needed. That seems to be needed a lot. I found the story interesting even if the main character at times is taken to the extreme.
