it was ok

Mercy Thompson gets a back story in this graphic novel prequel. Patricia has done a good job on the story, but I wasn't fond of the format of the graphic novel. I love Mercy Thompson as a prose book. I love other stories as graphic novels (Y: The Last Man! Fables! Nightmare World!). Having already read all of the Mercy Thompson prose novels, I had preconceived ideas of how these characters and settings should look. The graphic novel nature created a dissonance in my mind. The same holds true with other series that are also crossing over to the graphic novel format. I wish these authors luck and success, but when I have started reading a series as prose, I am probably going to keep reading it in that way.
