After three attempts, I gave up trying to read Little Women as a child. So, when my book club decided to read March, I was a bit reluctant; but, I enjoyed it a lot.

March is the fictional story of the father of the Little Women, a preacher who leaves his family to minister to the Union troops during the Civil War. March is a staunch abolitionist, vegetarian, and all around bleeding heart. Part of his story is told during flashbacks to his early adulthood and his early times with Marmee, aka Mrs. March.

This was an interesting Civil War book because it was told from a different perspective and involved few battle scenes.
