Re-reading this after more than 10 years is such an experience since I couldn't stop reading it. The first part on where Jonathan became the Dracula's guest but later found that he's actually a prisoner could leave your blood curling. The experience of Lucy & Mina would definitely be hailed as prominent for women's rights advocate. But Mina is the protagonist in this story despite her blood drunk by the Dracula. Despite the heavy influence of Christian ism, it doesn't deter me from reading it. The narrative point of view where journals were kept made the plot more interesting. And I just realised something - Van Helsing is a professor with an open minded approach with no supernatural power :) indeed
